Will McD ever score 10 pts in playoffs? When?

Yeah, guy should probably develop into a decent middle-six winger. Might even see some time on the second power play.

No.

It was a perfect storm that had McDavid reach 100 points and imo it took a lot our of him. Schedule division games played... etc... He came out very flat in the playoffs.

I'd rather see him used more sparingly and leave regular season milestones behind him. Focus on being better 2 way and managing his game and energy.

Could he? Absolutely. Should he? No. Will he? No.

Holland is too retarded to build a proper team around him so it'll be on a couple elite forwards to carry the team just like every year of his career.

Offensively, the team is probably better than last year, so who knows. Defensively, not so much. I wouldn't bet money on 150, but I didn't think he'd get to 100 last year either.

No, he has two things going against him.

1. he wont be playing only teams in the worst division again.
2. he plays for a glorified AHL team.

1. The Pacific will be a worse division than the North.
2. A team from the North made it to the finals.
3. He crushed the league on the same glorified AHL team last year.
4. Do you really have even one point, never-mind two?

Maybe. McDavid and Draisaitl are carrying Edmonton. I won’t argue things about divisions because it’s pointless. But assuming he plays 82 games he’d need to score a 1.83/gm rate. Is he capable of that, yeah. But it’s a long season whether it be injuries, fatigue or whatever reason. I’d say it’s unlikely to happen.

Mcdavid scoring 10 pts in the playoffs are better odds than the current penguins getting past the 2nd round. So…………

This is fair. Ill put money on him reaching 150. ( I need 82 games played) it’s a gamble, but let’s put 150 dollars on it.

Last year is a sign of things to come for McJesus. He's going to hit 2.00 ppg this year.

1. You clearly forgot that half the games will be against people not in that division.
2. A team that won't be anywhere near the playoffs this season.
3. He did crush it on an AHL team, he would do better on a good team though.
4. Considering you didn't actually think and responded emotionally, of course I do.

Blah blah blah the worst team in the North was 24th overall. You forget that there are 8 other teams that are worse than all the North division that McD will get to play this year (ANA,SJ,LA all in the same div..). Any player that goes and plays for a better team will probably be a better player.. Thanks for the hot tip Sherlock.

1. Several of those teams you speak of are worse than (or are) the teams they played last year (Buf, Det, Columbus, Ari, Ott).
2. Doesn't really matter that their roster regressed this offseason, last year in the "worst division" they made the finals, not sure how that makes the division the worst.
3. I disagree. On a more balanced team he would likely see regression in usage, and if anything put up less points. Being on an offense tilted squad and being relied on heavily is, IMO, the perfect storm for McD to put up max points.
4. I see, since your post was so thought provoking, my response must be emotional. You are aware that the intelligence (or cleverness) of posters in a hockey blog isn't actually linked to how good the NHL team they cheer for is, aren't you?

You worry about your team and how they can circumvent the cap again while icing a competitive team. Let the Oilers natural rivals try to troll them instead.

if you're this worried about the Oilers now, how are you gonna feel when you see the lightning on ice and realize they've taken 2 steps back and can't just place someone on LTIR to add another 9M in space next season to be upper echelon.
